One way to do this is to sell the car online. There are many advantages to selling online compared to leaving it at the nearest car dealer. Practically, there is a commission percentage from the sale that you have to share with the showroom owner.

Moreover, when selling online, the buyer is most likely someone who genuinely wants to use it and not a used car dealer. Thus, the price you offer can be higher compared to selling it to a dealer.

1. Sell in the Right Place

Now there are many used car selling sites that you can use when selling your car. Choose the one that is most comfortable for transactions, and one more important thing is the traffic of that online site, whether it is frequently visited by people looking for used cars.

2. Check Your Car's Condition

Before selling the car, it is better to check all conditions. This is intended to avoid any damage or deficiencies that may have been overlooked. This could include the engine, car paint, car performance, glass, and so on.

If there are things that need to be updated or replaced, it is better to do so first. This is done so that potential buyers are more pleased and do not have to bother replacing them. Moreover, they will not complain if there are damages after purchasing the car. 

3. Check Market Prices

Before determining the price, it is better to check the market price of the used car you want to sell. You can do this through the internet, newspapers, magazines, and so on. This is useful so that you do not set a price that is too high or too low.

4. Clean the Car Thoroughly

To make the car appealing to potential buyers, the car's appearance must be as clean as possible. A clean car inside and out will give a good impression, indicating that the car has received proper care from its owner.

Upload the best photos of the car you want to sell, of course, to attract the attention of potential buyers. Good photos will create a first impression that immediately interests buyers in your car.

6. Explain the Car's Condition in Detail 

When someone is interested in your car, provide all information related to your car to the buyer, including maintenance history and insurance if still valid. With good service and clear information, it will build trust from potential buyers that you are an honest person, and they will be more interested in the car you offer.

7. Complete Documents Are Also Necessary

Show the original documents or papers of the car to potential buyers, and check together the engine number and chassis number on the car body. If the documents are complete, the seller will feel more comfortable buying the car.

8. Provide Comfortable Payment Transactions

After the buyer feels suitable with the used car you offer and agrees to buy it, you just need to arrange a safe payment method for both parties. For large transactions, it is better to do it at the bank, either by cash deposit or transfer.

Don't forget to create a transaction receipt on stamped paper as proof of the legitimate sale of the used car you conducted. This is also useful to avoid misunderstandings or issues that may arise later.

9. Conduct a Check and Test Drive the Car 

After getting the buyer's contact, discuss a meeting to see the condition of the car you want to sell. Try to do a test drive with the buyer directly so that you do not feel deceived by the buyer.

10. Do It Yourself

Once again, do not sell through intermediaries; it is better for you to sell it yourself. Provide your number directly when selling the car on online sites. This way, you do not need to give a commission to intermediaries.
