7 Ways to Maintain Personal Hygiene That Should Be Practiced Every Day

Personal hygiene is closely related to the routine of maintaining health. Therefore, you should make personal hygiene one of your priorities while engaging in various activities. By maintaining cleanliness, you will also feel more confident in your activities. So, you won't feel shy when meeting people on the street.

Ways to maintain personal hygiene include routines to keep the body comfortable and safe from bacteria or dirt. Remember, bacteria or viruses can be something that is not visible. Therefore, you need to know some important things to pay attention to while maintaining personal hygiene daily.

1. Bathe regularly

The weather in Indonesia requires someone to bathe at least twice a day. The warm tropical climate makes it necessary to maintain personal hygiene by bathing and shampooing after coming home from outside. Even if you don't go out, it doesn't mean you are free from dirt. That's why you should bathe regularly every day.

2. Brush your teeth and gargle

Don't forget, the teeth and mouth also need to be cleaned regularly every day. It is recommended to brush your teeth after meals and before bed. This will clean the remnants of dirt stuck between your teeth. Additionally, you can also get into the habit of gargling to kill bacteria in the throat and prevent illness.

3. Wash your hands diligently

In addition to recommendations during the Covid-19 pandemic, you should wash your hands thoroughly. Hands often touch the mouth, eyes, and nose, which are very sensitive areas for bacterial contamination. Therefore, you must wash your hands diligently with soap, especially before eating.

4. Wash clothes regularly

Clothes are items that often come into contact with the body. Get into the habit of regularly changing clothes so that bacteria and germs do not stick even after you have bathed. You should also avoid piling up unwashed clothes because bacterial or germ contamination can spread through the air.

5. Trim your nails

This part may often be overlooked. However, nails are one of the body parts with a high potential for harboring germs and bacteria. Therefore, you should regularly trim your nails so that dirt is easier to clean when you wash your hands.

Some people also have a habit of biting their nails unconsciously. You can try simple therapy or make an effort to stop it to avoid bacteria.

6. Wash your feet

In addition to washing hands, washing feet is equally important. You who wear socks and shoes all day should wash your feet immediately upon arriving home. This will prevent bacteria from lingering and also avoid foot odor. Don't forget to regularly clean the footwear you wear too!

7. Use deodorant

Although it seems trivial, sweat on the body can cause unpleasant odors triggered by sweat and dirt. Therefore, you can get into the habit of using deodorant to reduce the intensity of sweat on your body, especially when exercising.

Well, those are some important routines you can do to maintain personal hygiene. This will help you avoid the potential of getting sick and also appear more confident while engaging in various activities. So, don't be lazy!
