Tips for Checking Your Car Before Vacation

In life, surely you have felt tired or bored. Daily routines and piles of deadlines can make you stressed, you know. We need a break or a little refreshing so that productivity remains intact. Therefore, everyone needs a vacation.
Vacation is a moment that is always eagerly awaited. You can go to a place with family, friends, or a beloved partner. Through a vacation, the mind can feel refreshed again.
Preparations to Consider for Your Car Before Vacation
To ensure a smooth vacation, you need to make preparations. Preparations can start with the items to be brought, registering the places to be visited, and most importantly, checking the vehicle before departure.
Of course, you wouldn't want anything to disturb you during the journey. Therefore, we must check the condition of the car before going on vacation. What should be checked? Let's take a look!
1. Tires
The easiest thing to check first is the condition of the tires. Problems with flat tires due to lack of air or leaks must be addressed immediately. The normal tire pressure is around 30 to 34 psi. If your tires have problems on the road, the car won't run optimally. Your vacation could be delayed, you know. To solve this, you can call a mechanic or go to your favorite workshop.
2. Gasoline
You also need to check the gasoline. Gasoline is the power for your car to travel. Can you imagine your car without gasoline? Your vacation could just be a dream! In addition, you also need to check the fuel hose and filter. The hose should not be leaking or cracked. Then, the fuel filter must also be clean and not clogged.
3. Radiator and Reservoir Water
You need to ensure that the radiator water is full. Meanwhile, the reservoir water also needs to be checked, it doesn't have to be too full, just up to the level mark. You are also advised to check the radiator and reservoir hoses. Make sure there are no cracks, bulges, leaks, or loose connections.
4. Oil
Well, the condition of the engine oil is also an important factor in the vehicle. You must ensure that the engine oil is at a sufficient volume. On the dipstick, the oil level should be between the L and F marks. Ideally, it should be slightly below the F mark. If it's low, you need to add more.
5. Brakes
You must check the brake fluid. Cars with brake problems are very prone to accidents, you know. You need to ensure that the car's brakes are working well. Make sure there are no leaks in the brake hoses.
6. Battery
You should check the battery terminal bolts and clean them from dirt. Next, the battery water also needs to be checked. Do not add battery water with sulfuric acid (H2SO4) to maintain the quality of the battery.
7. Lights
Don't underestimate the lights, my friend! If the car lights are out, you won't be able to see the road at night. Moreover, other vehicles won't be able to see your car moving. You need to check all the lights on the car. Starting from the turn signals, low beams, high beams, brake lights, reverse lights, to the interior lights of the car.
8. Wipers
Well, the car wipers also need to be checked. Make sure the wipers are functioning well because this tool is very useful when it rains. Without wipers, the driver will have difficulty driving in the rain.
9. AC
One of the comfort features in the car is the air conditioner or AC. The AC can make you and your family feel comfortable inside the car. You need to ensure that the cooling fan is clean, there is enough freon, and the freon lines are well-maintained.
Well, besides the above items, you also need to check the air filter, audio quality, steering wheel, and seat belts. Checking the car before vacation can make your journey safer and more comfortable. Of course, with the car in prime condition, your vacation will go smoothly!
