Cleaning car carpets doesn't have to be done at a car wash. You can practice it yourself at home. Cleaning car carpets at home can save you money.

There are several ways you can do if you want to clean car carpets at home. These methods are:

Remove the Car Carpet

The first step is to remove the car carpet. Taking out the car carpet from the car will make the cleaning process easier.

Doing this can also prevent dirt on the carpet from getting onto other parts of the car. After removing it from the car, place the carpet in a sufficiently open area.

Wet with Water

After removing it, immediately wet the carpet with water. Make sure the entire surface of the carpet is evenly wet. This is done so that dirt on the carpet is easier to clean.

Apply Soap, Then Scrub

Once the entire surface of the carpet is wet, immediately apply soap or shampoo to the surface. Especially for carpets with a lot of dirt or thick stains, you should apply a generous amount of soap or shampoo. This is done so that the dirt can be cleaned more easily.

Immediately scrub the surface of the carpet with a special brush after applying the soap. The brush used can be anything, depending on the type of dirt that needs to be cleaned.

Rinse and Dry

Once clean, you can directly dry the carpet. We recommend not drying it in direct sunlight. Doing so will cause the original color of the carpet to fade. As a solution, dry the carpet in a dry place that is easy to catch the wind.

Car carpets are usually installed in the car cabin. Like car mats, the cabin is also easily exposed to dirt and dust. Therefore, you should clean it immediately, so that dirt and dust in the cabin do not get onto the car carpet.
