Berapa Biaya Uji Emisi Mobil di Jakarta? Simak Info Terbarunya di Sini!

How much does a car emissions test cost? This question is currently being asked a lot by car drivers. The reason is that this emissions test has become a requirement for vehicles to operate in the DKI Jakarta area since September 1, 2023, in accordance with Governor Regulation Number 66 of 2020. So, how much does it cost? To answer that question, let's take a look at the following review.

How Much Does a Car Emissions Test Cost?

The cost for conducting a car emissions test has not yet been definitively determined by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. However, if you conduct the emissions test at an emissions testing kiosk or workshop, the average fee charged varies, ranging from Rp150,000 to Rp200,000.

Why is a Car Emissions Test Necessary?

The reason why a car emissions test is necessary is to reduce air pollution, which has been increasing every year. As is known, DKI Jakarta is the region in Indonesia with the highest level of air pollution, which impacts the health of its residents. According to Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation, if a driver uses a car that fails the carbon test in Jakarta, they will be subject to a fine of Rp500,000. Therefore, complying with this regulation can benefit air quality and the health of the residents living in DKI Jakarta.

Emissions Test Regulations

The emissions testing process is conducted under the following regulations.

  1. Installing a gas detector on the vehicle's exhaust.
  2. The vehicle undergoing the emissions test must be in running condition.
  3. It is prohibited to turn on several electronic devices in the vehicle during the emissions test, such as the radio, lights, or air conditioning.
  4. The testing process takes approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
  5. The content and level of smoke substances must be recorded after the emissions testing is completed.
  6. The substances checked in the emissions test include Oxygen, Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Oxides, and Hydrocarbons.
  7. The emissions passing requirement for gasoline vehicles manufactured before 2007 must have a carbon dioxide level below 3%. For those manufactured after 2007, the carbon dioxide level must not exceed 1.5%.
  8. Vehicles that pass the emissions test will be given a certificate of passing the emissions test. This certificate can be submitted to the police as proof that your vehicle does not produce excessive emissions.

Emissions Test Ticketing Locations

Starting from September 1, 2023, the DKI Jakarta Traffic Police have implemented emissions test ticketing for every vehicle passing through. The locations are as follows.

  1. Central Jakarta (Asia Afrika Street)
  2. East Jakarta (Perintis Kemerdekaan Street)
  3. West Jakarta (Taman Anggrek)
  4. North Jakarta (RE Martadinata Street)
  5. South Jakarta (Blok M Terminal)

Emissions Testing Locations

If you intend to conduct an emissions test on your car or personal vehicle, you can visit the following places.

  1. DKI Jakarta Provincial Environmental Agency.
  2. Special emissions testing kiosks.
  3. Official workshops such as the nearest Daihatsu workshop.

If you intend to conduct an emissions test at a Daihatsu workshop, you will be charged a fairly low fee of only Rp165,000. This fee includes tax and the cost of printing the emissions test passing certificate that you can submit to the police. In addition to the emissions test, don't forget to perform a complete service on your car to ensure maximum comfort, safety, and performance.
