3 Easy and Simple Ways to Check Electronic Fines!
With the implementation of electronic ticketing regulations in several regions of Indonesia, compliance with traffic regulations has become increasingly crucial. Currently, electronic ticketing has been enforced in several cities in Indonesia, with CCTV cameras installed at various points to record vehicle traffic, including when violations occur.
Although traffic police still monitor drivers directly on the road, electronic ticketing has helped reduce the rate of violations on the road and avoid the occurrence of illegal levies. The legal basis for this electronic ticketing is regulated by Law No. 22 of 2009 and Government Regulation (PP) No. 80 of 2012 concerning the Procedures for Checking Motor Vehicles on the Road and Enforcement of Traffic Violations and Road Transportation.
What is ETLE?
ETLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement) is an electronic ticketing system that uses CCTV cameras to automatically capture traffic violations. This system is used at specific points in various cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, and Solo.
The operation of ETLE is quite sophisticated as it uses camera-based technology and AI systems to automatically capture traffic violations, which are then verified by police officers.
Although this monitoring is done through technology, the availability of information regarding the status of tickets is an important step for the community. To understand more, here is a brief guide on how to check electronic tickets through the website, the e-ticket application, and the Super-App application.
How to Check Electronic Tickets Through the Website
The steps to check electronic tickets or E-Tilang through the website are:
1. Visit the Official ETLE Page
The first step is to visit the official ETLE page, which can be accessed at https://etle.polri.go.id/.
2. Fill in Vehicle Data in Detail
After successfully accessing the page, the next step is to fill in the vehicle data. Vehicle owners are asked to upload information such as the vehicle's license plate number, chassis number, and engine number. All this information can be found on the vehicle registration certificate (STNK) without the need to physically check the vehicle.
3. Check Violations
Next, the process of checking violations can be done after the vehicle data has been successfully uploaded. By clicking 'check data', the page will display information on whether there are any recorded violations in the ETLE system or not.
If a vehicle with a specific license plate number is proven to have committed a violation, a notification will appear with details of the violation, including location, type of vehicle, and time of the violation. However, if the page shows 'no data available' or 'data not found', it means that the vehicle has not been monitored for any violations.
4. Make Payment
For vehicle owners who find a violation, the next step is to make a payment of the fine to avoid blocking the STNK. There are three payment options, namely through the e-Tilang website, bank transfer, or payment at designated bank tellers.
To prevent unfair blocking, vehicle owners who feel they have not committed a violation can confirm by bringing valid evidence. Thus, they can avoid unnecessary blocking of the STNK.
