How to Overcome a Car That Can't Be Started Due to the Alarm

Open the Car Dashboard Cover

After the dashboard cover is opened, look for the power cable on the car alarm module. Usually, the power cable has a distinctive feature in the form of its red color.

Unplug the cable, then try to start the car. If this method is still far from successful, you can proceed to the next method below!

Remove the Black Cable from the Alarm

To do this, you need to prepare wire cutters or scissors first. After that, find the black cable on the alarm module. The black cable usually has a distinctive feature in the form of its large size.

Remove the cable, then strip it until the wire strands are visible. The stripped cable is then combined with the red cable that was removed in the first method.

Cover both cables with insulation tape. Make sure no wire strands are sticking out when you are about to close both cables.

Once done, you can try to start the car. If it seems successful, you can immediately dismantle the combination of the black and red cables you made, and return the cables to the alarm module.

Repair the Faulty Car Alarm

As mentioned earlier, one reason the car cannot be started is due to the alarm being faulty. Therefore, repairing the faulty car alarm is one of the ways that can be done.

Replace the Car Alarm Remote Battery

One of the factors causing the car alarm to malfunction is the remote alarm battery that is no longer functioning. If this is the case, then immediately replace the battery with a new one. When performing this step, make sure not to pry the panel roughly. Because this can damage the panel itself.

Replace the Old or Damaged Car Fuse

Besides the remote battery, the car fuse is another factor that can cause the car alarm to malfunction. Usually, the fuse that causes the alarm to malfunction is an old fuse or one that is severely damaged.

Replacing such a fuse with a new one is the solution. Replacing the fuse is not difficult. You just need to open the fuse panel located under the car dashboard.

After that, replace the fuse with a new one. Make sure the new fuse has the same capacity as the old fuse. This way, the new fuse can provide the same power as the old fuse.
