How to Easily Disable Car Immobilizer, Let's Give It a Try!
Car immobilizer is a modern feature developed from car security system technology, especially in the windows and doors of the car. With this feature, the car alarm will sound when there is an attempt to steal the car. This feature is now used in almost all new car models.
Although this feature is very sophisticated and beneficial, it can still sometimes experience technical problems that prevent it from functioning. Meanwhile, the cost to repair a car immobilizer is quite expensive and can drain your wallet. Therefore, knowing how to disable the car immobilizer is very necessary. Here are the ways to do it.
How to Easily Disable the Immobilizer
Car immobilizer issues often make this feature less responsive, making it difficult to start the car engine. If this happens, you need to disable your car's immobilizer. Here are the ways to disable it.
1. Utilizing the car dashboard
The first way you can do when you want to disable the car immobilizer is to place the car key under the dashboard. This needs to be done so that the wave detection sensor will receive a signal to automatically disable the immobilizer. This way, you can easily start the car engine.
2. Opening the car trunk
The second way is to open the car trunk to disable the car immobilizer. When you open the trunk from the inside, the car's immobilizer sensor will read the command that the car is in a safe state, thus stopping the operation of this feature automatically.
3. Using the car door key
The third way is to use the car door key to disable the car immobilizer. The method is quite easy; you just need to insert the physical key into the keyhole on the steering door. Turn the key to unlock the car door. Then, do not immediately remove the key; let it stay for 20 to 30 seconds.
In this condition, the car system will detect that the use of the car key is correct. This makes the car alarm system in a bypass state. Next, you just need to remove the car door key and start your car engine.
4. Turn on the starter
The next way is to disable the car immobilizer by turning on the starter. First, you need to check the anti-theft light. This part is the light displayed on the dashboard. Usually, this light emits red or blue light. The next step is to insert the key into the car starter. Turn the key until the car is on and wait for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Next, you need to check the anti-theft light on the dashboard again. If the anti-theft light is no longer blinking, you can turn the key to the off position. Let it sit for about 1 to 2 minutes. In this condition, the system will reset, so the car immobilizer will be disabled. After that, you can start your car engine again.
Thus, here are some ways you can do when you want to disable the immobilizer on your car. A less responsive immobilizer is usually caused by several factors, including: the immobilizer battery is almost dead, the immobilizer chip is damaged due to impact, rolling code is damaged, starter system connection issues, and radio frequency interference.
If these problems occur with your car's immobilizer, you will need to replace the immobilizer. The cost of replacing a car immobilizer is approximately between Rp2 million to Rp5 million depending on the level of damage. Replacing a car immobilizer also cannot be done carelessly; different damage issues require different handling. It is advisable to replace the immobilizer at an official workshop such as Daihatsu workshop to get the right and quick handling.
