The BPKB is a legal document proving ownership of a motor vehicle, whether a motorcycle or a car, issued by the Satlantas Polri. The importance of the BPKB as a valid proof of vehicle ownership means it cannot be taken by just anyone. The BPKB must be collected directly by the vehicle owner once the processing is complete. If you, as the rightful owner of the vehicle, cannot collect the BPKB in person due to an important and sudden need, you must create a power of attorney for someone you designate as an intermediary for collection. The following will explain an example format of the power of attorney and the requirements for collecting the BPKB.
Example Format of Power of Attorney for BPKB Collection
When you want to create a power of attorney for BPKB collection, you must know the format of the letter. This format must include the name of the grantor and the intermediary being authorized, vehicle information, and other supporting documents if necessary. 7. Closing sentence

8. Affix stamp and signature
Next, you affix a Rp10,000 stamp on your power of attorney. Don’t forget to sign along with the signature of the attorney-in-fact.

Requirements for Collecting BPKB with Power of Attorney
There are several requirements you need to pay attention to if you want to collect the BPKB with a power of attorney.
1. Attach original ID and driver's license along with photocopies
When you want to collect the BPKB using an intermediary with a power of attorney, you must complete the collection requirements by attaching the original ID and driver's license along with photocopies as the grantor. And attach the original ID and driver's license of the attorney-in-fact along with photocopies.
2. Attach proof of payment completion
The second requirement is to attach proof of completion of vehicle credit payment administration. And it must be confirmed directly to the grantor via phone.
3. Attach the power of attorney
The third requirement is to attach the original power of attorney that has been stamped and signed by both the grantor and the attorney-in-fact. The power of attorney must be attached as a requirement for collection no later than 14 days after the creation of the power of attorney.
