Daihatsu Ceria is another car from Daihatsu that is worth collecting. Although it is no longer in production, this car is still sought after by car enthusiasts.

Starting from its history to a review of the car. For more details, you can read below!

History of Daihatsu Ceria

Before being sold in Indonesia, Daihatsu Ceria was first sold in Malaysia under the name Perodua Kancil. This car was first sold in the neighboring country in 1994 and continued to be sold until 2009.

Seeing how popular this car was in Malaysia, Daihatsu tried to sell Ceria in Indonesia. They began marketing the car in Indonesia in 2001.

The results were not in vain. Many people were fond of this mini car. Its small size made it very popular at the time. Because of its shape, they could drive it easily and freely on the roads.

Unfortunately, the heyday of Daihatsu Ceria in Indonesia did not last long. In 2006, this car was officially no longer produced in our country. The changing trends in cars are one of the reasons behind it.

However, you can still get this car. There are many units of this car available in the market in used condition. Although used, its quality is still considered good and has an affordable price.

Currently, Daihatsu Ceria is purchased as one of the collectible cars. Not only as a collectible item, but some people also start using it for daily needs.

Review of Daihatsu Ceria

Now let's review the Daihatsu Ceria in depth. This time, we will discuss what the Daihatsu Ceria is like from various aspects. Starting from the engine, interior, exterior, to features and performance. You can read the complete review as follows!

Engine

It can be said that the engine of the Daihatsu Ceria is somewhat outdated compared to other similar cars. This car still uses an 850 cc engine with 3 inline cylinders, ED-10, 6 valves, and SOHC. That engine can make the Daihatsu Ceria produce a maximum power of 35 Hp/5,500 RPM, and a maximum torque of 63 Nm/3,200 RPM.

Interior

Like the engine, the interior of the Daihatsu Ceria is also somewhat old-fashioned. Inside this car, you will find a dashboard, interior colors, and a steering wheel that are quite simple.

Specifically for the steering wheel, it is relatively light to use, especially when you want to maneuver. In fact, the steering wheel is not equipped with a power window like those in more modern cars.

The interior of the Daihatsu Ceria is also equipped with several features. Such as a radio tape, AC, central lock, and power window.

Due to its mini size, the capacity of this car is also limited. Only five passengers can enter this car. Although mini, the space in this car is quite comfortable, making anyone feel at home for a long time.

Exterior

Now let's move on to the exterior. At the front, you can find a mini-sized Daihatsu logo. The logo is then given a minimalistic blue background. This addition makes the logo look very attractive.

Not far from the logo, you can see the car's grill that uses a red color design and has two formations. This grill will remind you of the BMW Kidney Grille design.

The front appearance of this car's exterior is even more interesting with the presence of its lights. The lights used in this car are designed in a round shape.

At the back, you can find a license plate mounted in the center. In addition to the plate, you will also find small round taillights.

Features

In addition to having interesting features in the interior, the Daihatsu Ceria also has several other interesting features. Some of these features can be found in the front and rear suspension.

In the front suspension, you will find MacPherson Strut Independent Coil Spring suspension. This feature has been paired with a stabilizer in the front suspension.

For the rear, you will find a feature in the form of Semi Trailing Independent Coil Spring. This feature allows you to drive the Daihatsu Ceria very comfortably.

If you buy a Daihatsu Ceria from 2003, you will find interesting features in its interior. The features in question are the radio and tape features.

For those of you who like modern cars, these features may not be appealing. However, if you like classic cars and want to reminisce, these features feel interesting to use.

Performance

Finally, we arrive at the last aspect of our review of the Daihatsu Ceria. In terms of the engine, we have actually mentioned the performance produced by this Daihatsu car.

However, as a reminder, we will mention it again along with other related information. The performance produced by this car is 35 Hp/5,500 RPM (maximum power), and 63 Nm/3,200 RPM (maximum torque).

With this performance, the Daihatsu Ceria can reach speeds of up to 135 km/h. A figure that is actually quite large for the Daihatsu Ceria. Why is that?

The Daihatsu Ceria has a lightweight, especially for the 2003 model. The average weight of the Daihatsu Ceria itself is 1,040 kg.

For a car of that weight, a speed of 135 km/h can make the car feel like it's floating while driving. However, this does not apply to the Daihatsu Ceria. Because the Daihatsu Ceria is quite sturdy, it will not float even when driven at a speed of 135 km/h.

Thus, here is the complete information about the Daihatsu Ceria. From its history to a review about it. You can also learn more about the advantages and disadvantages of the Daihatsu Ceria. Hopefully, this helps you get to know this collectible car. See you in the next article!
