Avoid Damage, Here are 4 Ways to Properly Adjust Your Car Wipers
Wipers are car components that require proper maintenance and adjustment. Both of these actions are taken to ensure that the wiper can effectively reach all parts of the car's glass.
Therefore, it is important for you to know how to properly adjust the car wipers. To clarify, here is the review.
1. Preparing the Tools
As a basic step, you need to prepare all the tools to adjust the wiper of the car. In fact, adjusting the wiper on a car only requires simple and not too many tools.
However, you still need to prepare all the materials and ensure that no single tool is overlooked.
The tools needed generally include a size 12 socket wrench, bolts, and other equipment. This size 12 socket wrench will be used to open and attach the bolts on the wiper arm lock.
In addition to those tools, you can also prepare other auxiliary tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, or other assisting tools.

2. Opening the Wiper Arm Cover
After preparing all the tools, the next step in how to adjust the car wipers is to open the wiper arm cover. You need to know that the wiper arm cover serves as a protector for the bolts that lock the wiper components.
This cover will protect the wipers from rainwater and corrosive dust. To open the cover, turn and pull the part upwards.
3. Loosening the Bolts on the Wiper Arm Lock
Once the wiper arm cover is removed, you will see the locking bolts used to adjust the wipers. After seeing them, loosen the bolts using a wrench by turning them in the opposite direction.
Loosen the bolts until the locking part is released. Then, you need to clean the bolts to remove any dust.
After being released, you need to tap the locking part of the wiper arm to remove any dirt inside it. After that, you can pull the wiper arm until it is detached from its original place.
If it feels clean, the next step in adjusting the wiper is to install it according to your needs. If it is too high, you can readjust the wiper arm until its position matches your body posture.
Once the position feels right and meets the driver's needs, lock the wiper arm and return that part to its original position.
After that, reinstall the locking bolts of the wiper arm, then tighten that part by turning it clockwise. To prevent damage, you can raise the position of the wiper to the standard.
4. Testing the Adjusted Wiper Arm
To ensure the wipers are installed perfectly, you can turn on the wiper switch and check if the wiper can move better. Also, ensure that the movement of the wiper does not exceed the glass area.
After that, tighten the locking bolts again considering the movement range of the wiper itself, as a final step in how to adjust the wiper arm.
