Types of Traffic Violations and Their Fines

This violation is stated in Article 285 paragraph 1. For the fines listed in that article, both for E-Tilang and conventionally, the driver may be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of one month, or fined up to 250 thousand rupiah. Every vehicle that does not have safety equipment and first aid kits in case of an accident.
This violation is mentioned in Article 278 where drivers of cars or vehicles with four wheels or more must ensure the availability of equipment that is indeed needed in case of an emergency. The sanction imposed is imprisonment for a maximum of 1 month, and the maximum fine that can be imposed is 250 thousand.
Drivers or front passengers not wearing seat belts
This regulation is an application of Article 289, which explains the obligation of drivers and front seat passengers to always wear seat belts. The penalty for this issue is imprisonment for a maximum of 1 month, or a fine of up to 250 thousand rupiah.
Motorcycle riders or passengers not wearing SNI helmets
This regulation is explained in Article 291 paragraphs 1 and 2. The essence of this article is how important safety aspects are for both the rider and the passenger. If the rider does not wear an SNI helmet, they may face imprisonment for a maximum of 1 month, and a fine of up to 250 thousand. This is stated in Article 291 paragraph 1. Meanwhile, for paragraph 2, if the rider allows the passenger not to wear a helmet, the sanction is imprisonment for a maximum of 1 month, and a fine of 250 thousand.
Drivers who do not turn on their headlights at night and under certain conditions
All riders are required to turn on their lights at night, as stated in Article 293 paragraph 1. If violated, the penalty is a maximum of 1 month in prison, or a fine of up to 250 thousand rupiah.
Motor vehicles turning back, turning, moving sideways, or changing lanes without signaling first
This violation is found in Articles 294 and 295. The sanctions that can be imposed are imprisonment for a maximum of 1 month, or a fine of up to 250 thousand.
