Do you know the cause of the car body tilting to the right while driving? If not, then you need to know. Because if this condition is left unchecked, the potential for an accident is very high. Below will be explained in detail the causes and how to address this issue.

Causes of Car Body Tilting to the Right

There are several factors that cause the car body to tilt to the right while driving. The complete list of causes is as follows.

1. Insufficient tire pressure

The car body tilting to the right can be caused by unbalanced tire pressure. Insufficient tire pressure can occur because the car owner rarely checks the tire condition or the tire has a leak due to being punctured by a foreign object.

2. Overloaded vehicle

A large number of passengers or cargo exceeding the standard load capacity of the vehicle can cause the car body to tilt to one side. This condition occurs because the load distribution is uneven and the focal point is concentrated on one point.

3. Damage to suspension components

The next cause can occur due to damage to the suspension components such as springs, shock absorber rubber supports, mounting rubber, or bushings. Damage to suspension components can reduce the balance and stability of the vehicle.

4. Problems with the steering system

Issues with the steering system, such as damaged steering components or calibration errors in the steering wheel can also cause the body to tilt to the right.

5. Problems with the braking system

In addition to the steering system, problems with the braking system can also cause the car body to tilt to the right. This usually occurs due to wear on the brake pads or a blockage in the caliper.

How to Fix a Car Body Tilting to the Right

To prevent the car body from tilting to the right, you need to apply the following methods.

1. Regularly check tire condition and air pressure

To keep the car body balanced while driving, you need to regularly and periodically check the tire condition and the air pressure inside. Ensure there are no foreign objects stuck in the tires, and check for air leaks. Next, inflate the tires if the air pressure is low. Make sure the air pressure you fill is according to the standard tire pressure filling as follows.

  • SUV type vehicles: 35-40 Psi.
  • MPV type vehicles: 33-36 Psi.
  • City car or hatchback type vehicles: 30-36 Psi.
  • Sedan type vehicles: 30-33 Psi.

2. Avoid carrying excessive cargo

Next, you need to be wise in carrying cargo or passengers. Ensure that the weight of the cargo you carry or the passengers does not exceed the vehicle's load capacity.

3. Perform routine and periodic checks and maintenance on the suspension system

Conducting routine and periodic checks or maintenance on the suspension system can prevent damage to the system components and extend their lifespan.

4. Perform checks and maintenance on the steering system

Regularly check the condition of the steering system so that worn components can be monitored early. Perform maintenance on the steering system, from lubricating the steering system components to calibrating the steering wheel.

5. Perform checks and maintenance on the braking system

Don't forget to check and maintain the components of the car's braking system regularly and periodically to ensure stable braking performance.
