Ideal Schedule for Regular Service
Here is the ideal car service schedule based on mileage.
1. Period of 5,000 km or 10,000 km
After you perform the first service, you are advised to service every multiple of 10,000 km or equivalent to 6 months. However, if you visit an official Daihatsu workshop, you are advised to service every multiple of 5,000 km or equivalent to 3-4 months after the first service. This recommendation for service at 5,000 km is for cars using semi-synthetic oil and daily cars used in congested urban areas.
During this period, a tune-up (light engine service) is usually also performed, such as checking the carburetor, spark plugs, high-voltage cable gaps, valve gaps, fan belt, battery, air filter, cooling system, brake oil, wiper water, battery, radiator water, steering system, clutch, brake pads, adjusting the fuel-air mixture, and idle speed.
2. Period of 20,000 km or 60,000 km or 100,000 km
In the 20,000 km period or one year of car use, in addition to being advised to service every multiple of 5,000 km or 10,000 km, it is also recommended to check the car's systems. Starting from the electrical system, braking system, steering system, to the fuel system.
During this period, it is also recommended to replace components such as spark plugs, AC filters, fuel filters, and transmission oil. Car owners are also advised to check the car tires such as alignment and balancing, wheel angles, wheel balance, cross-rotation of tires, suspension, and chassis systems.
3. Period of 40,000 km or 80,000 km or 120,000 km
During this period, it is recommended to service as in the previous periods. In this period, oil changes for the differential, automatic transmission oil, and air filter replacement are usually performed.
4. Period after 50,000 km
In this additional period (after 50,000 km or three years of use), the service costs are usually borne by the car owner, not the purchasing dealer. The inspections performed are as follows.
- Replacement of brake oil, replacement of bearings and drive belts when the odometer reaches 60,000 km.
- Replacement of iridium spark plugs at 10,000 km on the odometer.
- Draining and replacing radiator water at 200,000 km on the odometer. Subsequently, replacement is done every multiple of 40,000 km.
