A car that catches fire by itself is certainly a problem that can endanger lives. Some of you may only think that a car can catch fire due to a damaged component. In fact, there are several other factors that can cause a car to catch fire. To find out, see the explanation in the following review.

1. Overheating Engine

Due to prolonged use of the car, the engine will experience an increase in temperature and cause it to overheat.

An engine that works too hard can also cause the vehicle to catch fire. The reason is that the condition of the overheated engine can raise the temperature of the oil, which eventually causes leaks and ignites a fire.

According to a study by automotive experts, damage to the radiator and engine valves triggers the engine to heat up quickly. If this condition occurs continuously, it is not impossible that it could potentially cause a car fire.

As a preventive measure, always check the car's dashboard. If the dashboard is hot, turn off the car immediately.

2. Leaking Oil or Fuel

As previously explained, a hot engine can be a cause of a car catching fire. You should know that oil and fuel are among the structures in a car that are at risk of leaking.

Especially when the car is in use, parts of the oil and fuel storage areas can easily heat up.

Not only oil and fuel, other fluids such as diesel, car coolant, power steering fluid, and transmission fluid can also be triggers for a car fire.

An effective way to prevent car fires due to fuel leaks is to regularly maintain the circulation of oil and fuel.

3. Electrical System Damage

Basically, cars have electrical systems that are prone to damage. One of the causes of electrical system failure is problematic oil conditions in the car.

Such conditions can create a buildup of hydrogen gas in the deepest part of the car's engine. This gas can trigger a car fire.

You should know that the car electrical system is spread throughout almost all parts of the car. So, if one electrical part is damaged, it can cause a car fire.

To avoid this, always make sure to maintain the car, especially the electrical parts of the four-wheeled vehicle.

4. Lack of Vehicle Maintenance

In addition to user error, a car can also catch fire due to inadequate maintenance. If the car is used continuously, you must diligently maintain it to keep it in prime condition. A car that is not well maintained poses a significant risk of engine fire.

5. Vehicle Defects

A defective vehicle design can also cause a car to catch fire. This happens due to negligence in the car's production, making it dangerous.

If examined fundamentally, a defective car does not always cause a fire. However, if the defective parts are left unattended, it will certainly disrupt the driver's comfort.

Basically, a car requires proper maintenance to avoid damage such as fire. After understanding several factors that can cause a vehicle to catch fire, you can now anticipate the occurrence of a car fire. Perform maintenance on parts that have the potential to spark, to avoid fires.
