Apa itu Speeding? Ini Bahayanya dalam Berkendara

Speeding is an acronym used to describe the behavior of driving above the established speed limit. For some people, speeding can be interpreted as a condition of driving fast or racing. Driving behavior with speeding is not recommended because it is very dangerous. So what are the dangers? For more details, please pay attention to the following review.

What is Speeding?

As explained earlier, speeding is the behavior of driving at high speeds that exceed the established speed limit. Speeding is often done by some people with the reason of cutting travel time estimates. However, sometimes speeding is done by a few people to feel the thrilling sensation that boosts adrenaline. In fact, this is very dangerous for oneself and other road users.

Dangers of Speeding While Driving

Here are some dangers of speeding while driving that you need to know.

1. Increases the risk of accidents

Speeding while driving can increase the risk of accidents. This is because when speeding, controlling the car's maneuvers is difficult, especially when turning and braking. If the braking process cannot be controlled, the driver risks hitting other road users or objects nearby. This is certainly very dangerous for oneself and other road users.

2. Causes the risk of serious injury

In addition to causing accidents, speeding can also lead to the risk of serious injuries to the driver or road users who are hit. The higher the speed, the more severe the injuries that will be experienced. It can even be life-threatening.

3. Damages the car and infrastructure

Speeding can also damage the car and road infrastructure. This is because drivers who speed often ignore the condition of the roads they are on. If the road conditions are damaged, such as potholes, it can damage the suspension parts and ground clearance of the car. However, if the road conditions are wet, sandy, and have holes, it can cause the car to skid, potentially leading to accidents that can damage the car's body or road infrastructure.

Speed Limits Established in Indonesia

Speeding behavior is not recommended because it is dangerous. Therefore, every driver must drive according to the established speed limits. The speed limits set in Indonesia are as follows.

1. Toll roads (freeways)

The minimum speed limit on toll roads is 60 kilometers per hour and the maximum speed limit is 100 kilometers per hour.

2. Intercity roads

The maximum speed limit is 80 kilometers per hour.

3. Urban roads

The maximum speed limit is 50 kilometers per hour.

4. Residential areas

2. Revocation of driver's license
