Odd-Even Rules During PSBB Jakarta
Odd-Even Rules During PSBB Jakarta - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has re-implemented the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) transition period, which was originally set to end on November 22, 2020. Given the high number of Covid-19 cases in the capital, the transition PSBB has been extended until December 6, 2020. This policy also affects other traffic regulations such as Odd-Even.
Odd-Even is a restriction on motor vehicles with odd or even license plates to pass through certain roads in the capital. The odd-even number is determined by the last digit of the vehicle's license plate and adjusted according to the date of that day.
For example, a vehicle owned by a friend has a plate number B 2084 PFJ. Now, looking at the last digit of the plate number, which is 4, the friend's car can pass on even dates.
The odd-even rule has been socialized since mid-2016. This system was created to replace the 3 in 1 policy to alleviate congestion in the capital.
DKI Jakarta only effectively implemented the odd-even system when Jakarta hosted the Asian Games in 2018. Initially, there were 9 roads in Jakarta that applied the odd-even system. Over time, this regulation has been adjusted, and now there are 25 roads that enforce the odd-even system.
Here are the roads in DKI Jakarta that implement the odd-even system:
* Jendral Ahmad Yani Street with the odd-even implementation starting from the intersection of Perintis Kemerdekaan Street and stopping at the intersection on Bekasi Timur Raya Street
* Jenderal S Parman Street (partially). On this road, the odd-even regulation is enforced from the end of the Tomang Raya Street intersection to the intersection on KS Tubun Street
* HR Rasuna Said Street
* Jenderal MT Haryono Street
* Medan Merdeka Barat Street
* DI Panjaitan Street
* MH Thamrin Street
* Jenderal Sudirman Street
* Gatot Subroto Street
* Kramat Raya Street
* Pramuka Street
* Senen Raya Street
* Salemba Raya Street
* Gunung Sahari Street
* Tomang Raya Street
* Suryopranoto Street
* Kyai Caringin Street
* Balikpapan Street
* RS Fatmawati Street (partially) enforced from the intersection of Ketimun 1 Street to the intersection on TB Simatupang Street
* Panglima Polim Street
* Gajah Mada Street
* Sisingamangaraja Street
* Pintu Besar Selatan Street
* Majapahit Street
* Hayam Wuruk Street
The implementation time of the odd-even system is divided into two shifts, morning and evening. These times are considered peak hours for vehicles passing through the capital, namely office departure and return times.
Odd-even applies in the morning from 06:00-10:00 WIB and in the evening from 16:00-21:00 WIB. This system does not apply on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
Odd-Even During PSBB Jakarta
The DKI Jakarta government implemented PSBB for the first time on April 10, 2020. Strict restrictions were extended for three rounds. Then extended for two rounds, where one round lasts for two weeks and is called the Transition PSBB.
The PSBB transition period continued until December 6, 2020. The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, stated that the odd-even policy was suspended during the PSBB Jakarta period.
This policy serves as a substitute instrument for restricting residents' mobility during the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the odd-even rule does not apply, the public is urged to adhere to health protocols while traveling during the transition PSBB.
Car drivers are required to have a configuration of two people per row, except for one domicile, which can be fully occupied. When driving, it is also mandatory to wear masks, and after using the vehicle, disinfection spraying is required.
Online motorcycle taxis and bases also have no changes, still allowed to carry passengers while continuing to implement health protocols. Drivers are still prohibited from gathering more than five people and must maintain a distance of at least one meter while waiting between drivers and motorcycle parking.
