Operation Patuh Lodaya 2026 Held in West Java
Riders in West Java need to be more disciplined and vigilant starting today. The Patuh Lodaya 2026 Operation officially begins on Monday, October 26, until November 8, 2026, or for 14 days across the legal jurisdiction of the West Java Regional Police. This operation targets driving behaviors that most often trigger accidents, ranging from not wearing SNI helmets to driving under the influence of alcohol.
The theme raised is "Police Together with the Community Realizing Orderly, Safe, and Accident-Free Traffic".
West Java Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Rachmad Iswan Nusi stated that 2,000 combined personnel are involved in the implementation of this operation as reported in today's Kompas edition.
Objective: Reduce Violations, Accidents, and Fatalities
The main target of this operation is not just to impose sanctions. The police aim to reduce the number of violations and accidents, decrease the fatality rate of victims, and increase public awareness for orderly traffic.
The local context is quite serious. The Bandung Police recorded 113 people died due to traffic accidents in Bandung Regency from January to September 2026. This figure is one of the reasons this operation is focused on violations that have the potential to be fatal.
7 Violations Targeted
The following list of seven priority targets was presented by the Cirebon City Traffic Police as an overview of the Patuh Lodaya 2026 Operation targets:
- Not wearing SNI standard helmets.
Applies to motorcycle riders. Helmets that do not meet the standards are still counted as violations. - Not wearing seat belts.
Applies to drivers and passengers of cars. - Using a mobile phone while driving.
Operating a mobile phone distracts concentration and is considered a violation. - Driving against the flow of traffic.
One of the violations with the highest risk of frontal collisions, and a primary concern for Korlantas. - Underage riders or those without a driver's license.
Driving without a valid driver's license is prohibited. - Exhaust not in accordance with technical specifications.
Includes noisy or "brong" exhausts that violate regulations. - Driving under the influence of alcohol.
This condition reduces concentration and the ability to control the vehicle.
Priorities May Vary by Region
Korlantas Polri states that the types of priority violations can be adjusted according to the characteristics of the area, based on local violation and accident data. Therefore, the list in each police station may differ slightly. In Kuningan, for example, the police also target violations of markings and signs, running red lights, exceeding speed limits, and using license plates that do not comply with regulations. In Purwakarta, illegal parking or stopping on the roadside is also a concern.
Conclusion
The Patuh Lodaya 2026 Operation runs from October 26 to November 8, 2026, focusing on violations that are most at risk of being fatal. With an educational approach and a dominance of electronic enforcement, it is hoped that the habit of orderly traffic will not stop when the operation ends. Being safe and orderly on the road is not just about avoiding fines, but also about ensuring the safety of oneself and other road users.
