Traffic Law Regulations in Indonesia

1. Law Number 38 of 2004

2. Law Number 22 of 2009

Article 280: For motorcyclists or car drivers whose vehicles do not use official license plates, they will be sentenced to a maximum of 2 months in prison or a maximum fine of Rp500,000.
Article 281: If a rider operates on the road without carrying or does not have a driver's license, they will be sentenced to a maximum of 4 months or a maximum fine of Rp1,000,000.
Article 285 Paragraph (2): For car drivers who do not meet technical requirements such as mirrors, front and rear lights, brake lights, horns, windshields, wipers, and bumpers, they will be sentenced to a maximum of 2 months in prison and a maximum fine of Rp500,000.
Article 287 Paragraph (1) and Paragraph (5): If a rider violates traffic signs or the maximum speed limit set, they will be sentenced to a maximum of 2 months in prison and a maximum fine of Rp500,000.
Article 288 Paragraph (1) and Paragraph (2): If not carrying a driver's license (SIM) or vehicle registration (STNK) when caught in a raid, they will be sentenced to a maximum of 2 months in prison and a maximum fine of Rp500,000. If the rider has a driver's license but does not show it to the police officer on duty during the raid, the rider will be sentenced to a maximum of 1 month in prison or a maximum fine of Rp250,000.
Article 289: Drivers or passengers in a car who do not wear seat belts while driving may be sentenced to a maximum of 1 month in prison and a maximum fine of Rp250,000.
