This throttle component functions as a controller of the amount of air that will enter the combustion chamber during the fuel combustion process, especially in cars that use carbureted engines.

2. Increases Car Speed Performance

In carbureted cars, the throttle body functions to increase the car's speed. This occurs when the gas pedal is pressed hard, causing a larger supply of air to enter the valve. This results in a significant flow of fuel, which affects the speed.

3. Receives Air According to Commands from the Airflow Sensor and Throttle Position Sensor

In FI (Fuel Injection) vehicles, the throttle body has the function of receiving air according to commands from two other components, namely the airflow sensor and throttle position sensor.

Disconnect the electrical cable of the sensor connected to the throttle body.
Next, remove the throttle body hose connected to the PCV tube.
Then detach the clips from the PCV tube attached to the air box filter and throttle.
After all clips are removed, next remove the four throttle body locking screws using a screwdriver. (A screwdriver is needed because the screws have a pentagonal shape).
Once the four special screws are removed, take off the throttle body and clean it using a special liquid. Spray the throttle body cleaner onto the dirty areas, let it sit for a while. Then wipe with a cloth or microfiber.
Make sure you clean it thoroughly until no dirt remains.
Once clean, reattach the throttle body in the reverse order.

What Causes Throttle Body Damage?

The main issue related to the throttle body often arises from the accumulation of dirt on its walls and valves. Dirt can accumulate due to infrequent cleaning of the air filter.
