Signs and Symptoms of a Damaged Drive Shaft

1. Clicking sounds

When your car makes a clicking sound while turning, it indicates that the drive shaft is having issues. This sound can be heard in the front left or right wheel area of the car, depending on which part is damaged. This sound typically occurs due to an improper position of the drive shaft or a loose drive shaft. 

2. Body vibrations at certain speeds

Symptoms of a damaged drive shaft can also be identified by vibrations that occur in the car's cabin. These vibrations will appear at certain speeds (when accelerating). The vibrations can be felt from the steering wheel to the car's body. 

3. Unbalanced steering

A damaged drive shaft can also cause a unique phenomenon such as an unbalanced steering system. When the car is moving slowly, the steering will feel heavy on one side. This happens because a damaged drive shaft can disrupt the performance of the wheel shaft when it rotates. As a result, the rotation of the left and right wheels becomes less stable.
