How to Properly Install and Maintain a Car Reverse Alarm
The car reverse alarm functions to assist you when parking your car. Especially for those of you who are still new to driving and are not yet accustomed to calculating safe distances when parking. If you are interested in installing this alarm on your own, let's pay attention to the following steps.
How to Properly Install a Car Reverse Alarm
There are several steps you need to pay attention to when installing a car reverse alarm on your own correctly. Here are the complete steps.
1. Prepare the backup alarm
Before installing the reverse alarm, you must first prepare the backup alarm. The backup comes with plus (+) and minus (-) marked screws. The plus screw will later be connected to the +12V/+24V voltage wire. Meanwhile, the minus screw can be connected to the ground wire.
2. Prepare round terminals
Next, you can prepare round terminals with eight-shaped screws. Prepare two of these screws to be installed on the plus and minus screws.
3. Connect the wire to the round terminal
In the third step, you can connect the wire to the terminal and the eight-shaped screw. When connecting the wire, you must use wires of different colors to easily distinguish the wire paths. For example: you can use a red wire for the positive (+) path and a brown wire for the negative (-) wire path.
4. Use insulation to wrap the wire connections
In the fourth step, you can use insulation to wrap the wire connections at the round terminal. This is necessary to prevent short circuits when the screw wires suddenly loosen.
5. Connect the wires
In the fifth step, you can connect the red wire to the plus (+) part of the backup alarm. Then, connect the brown wire to the minus (-) part of the backup alarm.
6. Install the backup alarm
In the sixth step, install the backup alarm by connecting it to the reverse light wire located at the bottom and rear of the car. Find the nearest position for the backup alarm so that the light wire can be easily connected.
You can connect the brown wire to the ring terminal or round terminal. Then connect it to the car body ground marked negative (-). Next, find the positive (+) wire path from the reverse light, which will later be connected to the red wire from the positive (+) terminal of the backup alarm.
Check the battery tester to see if it lights up. If it lights up, it means you have found the positive (+) path of the reverse light. Thus, you can connect that part with the red wire.
7. Turn on the reverse lights
In the last step, you just need to turn on the reverse lights of the car. If you hear a beep sound, then the installation of the reverse light alarm is successful.
How about that? The steps above are easy for you to practice, right?

1. Always keep the car clean
When washing your car, you also need to clean the car parking sensors. To clean this part, you can spray water on the dirt sticking to the parking sensor. Then wipe it with a soft cloth until clean.
2. Avoid painting the parking sensor area
When you want to change the color of your car, you need to carefully consider the rear bumper. Because this part contains parking sensors that can detect safe parking distances and anti-theft systems. Avoid painting this area to prevent damaging the function of the parking sensors.
It's quite easy, isn't it? If you want to clean the parking sensor with water, you are not advised to spray water for too long or press too hard on the sensor to avoid causing a short circuit.
