Successful people in Indonesia are those who have managed to own rapidly growing companies and, of course, have other assets of significant value. Most successful people in Indonesia are indeed dominated by older individuals. However, that doesn't mean young people can't be successful.

Achmad Zaky

At a relatively young age, Achmad Zaky has already achieved success. Born in 1986, he started his journey by opening a noodle shop that ended in failure and depleted his savings. With a background in computer engineering, Zaky saw the opportunity that many Indonesians had not yet utilized the internet at that time. Together with some friends, Zaky began creating a buying and selling platform called Bukalapak in 2010.

William Tanuwijaya's success did not come easily. He faced many struggles. William used to work as an internet cafe operator, and from there he got the idea of creating a buying and selling platform similar to those in the global arena like eBay and Alibaba.

Together with his partner Leontinus Alpha Edison, William finally launched Tokopedia in 2009. In 2014, Tokopedia received funding from SoftBank and Sequoia Capital, which became a significant leap to its current status.
