If imagining the distance from Jakarta to Bali, many would want a shorter journey by flying.

However, when domestic flight tickets are much more expensive than international tickets, it turns out that land travel via the Jakarta-Bali toll road by car can be a fun alternative.

If you are interested in trying, first check out the following tips.

1. Check and Prepare the Vehicle Condition

The opening of the new Jakarta-Surabaya toll road makes land travel feel faster and easier. If calculated, the estimated travel time is about 10 hours if the toll road is smooth and there is no traffic jam.

However, you should know that the distance covered should not be underestimated. From Jakarta to Banyuwangi alone, it reaches 1058 km.

This distance will be added to the distance from Gilimanuk to the center of Denpasar, which is about 130 km. For the departure itself, that distance is certainly very far.

Therefore, check the condition of the car carefully. Before taking the Jakarta-Bali route by car, make sure the tires, engine, oil, brakes, airbags, carburetor, and others are in prime condition.

2. Know the Route to Be Taken

Make sure you know the path and route to be taken. In this case, you can choose the Trans-Java toll route starting from the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road and then continue to the Cikopo-Palimanan toll road.

This journey feels quite long because the total distance covered is about 1,115 km. With that route, there are at least a total of 16 tolls that must be passed.

After reaching the Surabaya-Kertosono toll road, you must head to the exit road from Gunung Sari-Dupak, continue to the Surabaya-Porong Toll and head to Pasuruan.

From there, you can continue your journey to Ketapang Gilimanuk and book a ferry ticket to the Gilimanuk port. It is advisable to use GPS and map applications to guide your journey.

3. Prepare Travel Costs and Budget

The long Jakarta-Bali route by car also requires a considerable amount of money. In this case, what needs to be considered are fuel costs, toll fees, and also the cost of crossing by ferry to Bali.

According to several sources, the fuel consumption is about 80 liters. For the price, it can reach around 500 thousand (premium) and 800 thousand (pertamax).

In addition, the toll cost from Jakarta to Probolinggo is approximately 750 thousand. Meanwhile, for ferry transportation, tickets for a car with four people will usually be priced at only 160 thousand. This ticket already includes all passengers.

4. Bring Enough Items

Avoid bringing too many items, food, and cash. This is done to avoid overweight and also discomfort while driving.

If you need to rest and fill your stomach, the route is equipped with many rest area facilities. So you can stop by to eat and buy drinks.

5. Prioritize Safety

In addition to filling your stomach, the facilities on the Jakarta-Bali route by car can be used as places to rest. Stop when you feel tired and drowsy.

Taking a break or even staying overnight at a rest area will help your body feel fit again. It is also a good idea to travel with a backup driver, so the journey is safer.
